About me

I was born (1993) and live in Hendaye, in the South-west of France.

I became interested in photography around the age of 13, starting with basic throwaway cameras. I soon moved on to a compact digital camera (Fujifilm Finepix A800).

I don’t have any photographic speciality, photographing anything from urban themes to wildlife. My approach to photography is to select elements from my surroundings and combine them to show my way of viewing them.

Since April 2010 I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC fz38.

  1. Hi Kai,
hope you remember me. I’ve been surfing round your blog for a while now. It’s a pity you don’t upload more recent shots ’cause I really liked several compositions and light treatments. I hope you keep taking pictures in general and specially landscape photos, you’re good at it, mate!

    congratulations and keep on!

    • Hi Indra

Of course I remember you! The thing is I started uploading my oldest photos first, and I’m gradually adding the more recent ones, so I’ll be constantly updating it.

      It’s great to be appreciated.

  2. I like your perspective. Many of your photos are taken from close range, which I like very much. Keep at it! I’m glad I found you, and will surely be back for another visit. Happy shooting!

    • Thanks Sandra! I really appreciate it.

  3. Hello Kai,

I really enjoyed your blog and look forward to more of your work. Being so far away from Europe is so hard for us Southern California individuals. Thanks for sharing your adventures with your camera!

    • Thanks Janice!
I’m glad you appreciate my blog! I try not to take my luck for granted! I really love the nature in our part of Europe, and I definitely want to see as much of the world as possible, including parts of America, although I don’t know a lot about Southern California outisde of LA…
Thanks so much for commenting, I really appreciate it!

  4. Enjoyed spending a while browsing through your excellent photographs. There are many great shots, I particularly like the recent landscapes and shots of the lake.

    • I’m glad you appreciate my photos, Graham! I loved these remote mountain lakes, and took lots of shots, but these two were the best I think.
Thanks for taking a look and commenting.

  5. Kai,
Thank you for your kind words. If I may say your work is excellent. Your landscapes in particular are very powerful and meditative at the same time. Some of it reminds me of one of my favorite photographers and author – John Daido Roshi who recently passed away. You may want to take a look at his work:
    Thanks again

    • Thanks a lot for all your compliments, Ron! I’m glad my photos have this effect on you. I try to keep my photos simple in their structure, and perhaps that’s partly what makes them meditative… Thanks for sharing one of your favorite photographers here. I followed the link, but I found that the website is temporarily closed, but I managed to find a few of his photos on google, and I have to say I’m impressed! There’s a beautiful simplicity and a lovely sense of time, even in such tiny details in nature. I can only take this as a compliment!
Thanks for taking a look and commenting, I really appreciate it!

  6. No posts from you for a long time, Kai. I miss seeing your great photography.
