First, the light is great hitting at the perfect angle. It really adds texture. Second. All the ruts make it a little strange. It makes me wonder what it is all about.

Thanks Michael! I’m so glad you said this! I was amazed at all the textures in the tussocks with the remains of the snow and the sun coming from an angle. I hope the photo is worthy of the real thing! The ruts are from a track going up the hill.

Looks like the prefect time of day the way the shadows are beginning to draw out… Nicely captured Kai…

Thanks! I’m always amazed at how in winter it can look like it’s 6 o’clock in the evening when it’s actually just 3 o’clock!

Love it and the others. Not only are the photos interesting (often on a number of levels), but I just got home from four months in Pamplona, and seeing the area in your shots is making me nostalgic. 🙂

Reminds me of what we have now here. A thin layer of snow, but the sun finally came out so it will be gone soon. We don’t get much snow here in west Texas. I tried to get some pictures this morning, so maybe I will have some to post in a day or two. A very nice, scenic picture, Kai.

That’s exactly what we’ve had on the mùountains round here, a thin layer that’s mostly gone by the end of the day.
I’ll be curious to see your snow photos on your blog.
Thanks for stopping by today, Bob!

Hi Kai, beautiful photograph!! I love the texture shown up by the sun skimming over the ground. And I can feel and “see” the cold… Well done.
